A Chocolate Factory For Your Senses

Deep Dark Chocolate Cake

You might be wondering where the new podcast is, and I can assure you it is coming. I am actually editing down two hours of material into a couple of episodes, so it is taking longer than usual. To pass the time I offer you the recipe for the cake above. It is among the greatest cakes I have ever eaten, so please head to the kitchen and get baking. You won’t regret it, unless you hate chocolate, in which case you are weird and I’m not sure what to do about you.

Deep Dark Chocolate Cake

1 3/4 Cups Flour
2 Cups Sugar
3/4 Cups Cocoa
1 1/2 Tsp. Baking Soda
1 1/2 Tsp. Baking Powder
1 Tsp. Salt
2 Eggs
1 Cup Milk
1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
2 Tsp. Vanilla
1 Cup Boiling Water

Preheat Oven to 325 Degrees Celsius.

Combine all dry ingredients, then add wet ingredients (except boiling water).  Beat at medium spped for 2 minutes. Stir in boiling water. The batter will be very thin so don’t be concerned.  Pour into pans and back for 30-35 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean.

Melt chocolate and drizzle over for coating shown above. Sprinkle icing sugar for an extra sweet delight!
